Traditional Corsets
Hilary Jane has trained in the advanced techniques of corset construction,
using traditional fabrics, busks and boning techniques. Fully structured
and supportive to the figure, a true corset provides an hourglass contour
and encourages a perfect posture – a figure to die for. All corsets
are made to measure for each client and personally hand made fitted by
Hilary Jane.
Silk covered Bridal Corsets
When dressed in sumptuous silk the corset becomes a foundation garment
and Bridal bodice in one. The Bridal corset can be covered in plain or
embroidered silk to match your bridal skirt; or the fabric layer can be
a contrast, a dashing red or gold, a brocade or lace; alternatively the
fabric can be embellished in a bespoke Hilary Jane design of beads, embroidery
or appliqué.
The Corset as a foundation garment
A corset can be designed to wear as a foundation garment beneath your
Bridal Gown or evening dress. It can be worn again and again as a foundation
for countless other occasions. The foundation corset can be made to measure
in plain black or white or dyed in a host of colours to compliment your
wardrobe. The corset is traditionally finished with a trim of cotton lace.
Corset lacing
Corsets may be laced with traditional laces, lacing cord, ribbon or fabric
with or without beads and trimmings to match the gown. Hilary Jane will advise on the most suitable option
for your corset, and teach you and your Bridesmaid how to lace up the
corset successfully and comfortably on every occasion.
Waspies
For a stunning figure Hilary Jane creates the ultimate designer waspie
- wear as a foundation waist clincher under your Bridal gown or evening
dress. As outer wear the waspie has endless possibilities - covered in
chiffon for a floaty summer evening ball, in butterfly jacquard with
fine white cotton or silk for prom wear, or why not try a Linton tweed
waspie with this Autumn's designer suit?
Bridal Capes - Bridal Coats - Boleros and Ponchos
Bridal Capes are another specialist area where Hilary Jane applies her
craftsmanship and expertise to create the ultimate finishing touch to
the Bridal ensemble. Bridal capes and Bridal coats are made to measure
in a wealth of fabrics – organzas, chiffon, georgette, velvet. Hilary
Jane makes all capes to order, each one designed and made to measure as
part of the overall Wedding ensemble.
